SlugMarket is a UCSC-focused student marketplace for buying, selling, housing posts, and in-app messaging. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as name, email address, profile photo, CruzID, and selected UCSC college.
- Listing content such as titles, descriptions, prices, conditions, categories, meetup locations, housing details, and uploaded photos.
- Messages and conversation metadata needed to provide in-app chat.
- Device tokens used to send push notifications for messages and marketplace activity.
- Usage information such as app events, listing interactions, and basic reliability telemetry.
- Advertising-related data handled by Google AdMob, such as ad delivery and performance data.
- Diagnostics such as crash and performance information when available.
How We Use Information
- To verify access and operate the UCSC marketplace.
- To display listings, housing posts, seller profiles, and listing photos.
- To enable buyer and seller messaging.
- To send notifications about chat messages and new marketplace activity.
- To moderate listings, investigate reports, reduce abuse, and improve safety.
- To improve reliability, understand usage, and support app features.
- To display ads and measure ad performance through Google AdMob.
Sharing
SlugMarket does not sell personal information. Marketplace content you post, including listing details and seller profile information, may be visible to other authenticated users. Service providers such as Supabase, Apple, and Google AdMob may process data to provide authentication, storage, notifications, infrastructure, analytics, and ads.
Messages and Listings
Do not post sensitive personal information, exact dorm rooms, private addresses, financial credentials, or government IDs in listings or messages. Use public meetup locations whenever possible.
Data Retention
Account, listing, message, report, and notification data may be retained as long as needed to operate the service, support safety, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce marketplace rules.
Your Choices
You may request account deletion, listing removal, data deletion, or privacy support by contacting the developer at mukund.singhojha@gmail.com.
Children
SlugMarket is intended for college students and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
This policy may be updated as SlugMarket changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
